ECOsuperyacht partners with Antibes Yacht Show to offset emissions impact of event

The Antibes Yacht Show (April 7-10) has announced that it has signed a deal with energy and emissions management provider ECOsuperyacht, as its new 'carbon neutral' partner. ECOsuperyacht says it will be offsetting CO2 emissions from the 12,000 visitors who are expected to attend the show this year - that equates to 500 tonnes of CO2 emissions according to ECOsuperyacht, 25 per cent of which is estimated will be roughly produced by the show itself, the rest by travellers visiting from around the world. ECOsuperyacht  works with captains and owners to reduce the fuel consumption of their yachts by up to 15 per cent without any loss of performance, it claims.

As part of its programme, the company works with its clients to reinvest some of the cost savings achieved in purchasing carbon offsets to cover CO2 emissions from the remaining fuel use, making, the company states, "the yacht 100 per cent carbon neutral whilst delivering significant reductions in annual running costs."
