The facility will be built on an 11-acre plot in Riviera Beach, Florida
Plans for a new megayacht center, valued at US$45m, was announced on Friday. Rybovich owner Wayne Huizenga Jr said that his company plans to develop the new superyacht service center in Riviera Beach, Florida.
The company had previously sought to lease land near Riviera Beach public marina, but scuttled those plans in favour of an 11-acre property north of the marina.
The new facility will be designed to handle superyachts up to 400 feet long. Huizenga told the Palm Beach Post that an inlet into the facility will need to be dredged to about twice its current depth. Construction of the new superyacht center could be under way inside a year, depending on how long permitting takes.
Huizenga said that the center could create up to 3,400 new jobs including 1,000 on-site jobs, and inject US$630m into the Palm Beach County economy.
