Swedish association has big plans for the show which clashes with the Open Yard over same August weekend

Sweboat, Sweden's Boat Industry Association, having previously arranged Open Yards at the island of Orust, is to establish the Marstrand Boat Show as the largest floating boat show on the Swedish West coast. It is the first year Sweboat has taken charge of the event. This will be the third edition of the show that will be held over the same weekend (25-27 August) as the Open Yard at the Hallberg-Rassy facility on Orust. But the range of boats will be very different at the two shows, with Marstrand aiming to showcase the entire industry's range in one place - motorboats, sailboats, marine accessories and services. The Open Yard predominantly represents sailboats.

Today, the number of registered boats at Marstrand is 186 of which 151 are motorboats from 43 exhibitors and 35 sailboats from 11 exhibitors and more are heading in. All boats shown at Marstrand Boat Show will be brand new.

The previously announced Swedish premiers are Bavaria S45, Bavaria C34 3 Cab, Ibiza, Invictus 280 GT Princess V40, Princess S60 and Viknes 1080 Panorama. There will also be a world premiere for sailing yacht Diva 34 CS and motor boats Sandström 565 cc and Silver Hawk BRX.

At present, 52 service and accessories exhibitors are also reported with products such as sailing, boat brokerage, electronics, tampons, colors, clothes, engines, cushions, insurance, propellers, bridges, etc. Here too, more exhibitors are coming in.

In addition to this, there will be many activities under the campaign “Discover Boating” with various trial-on activities in the form of sailing dinghies and driving RIBs with instructors.

In addition to the floating boat fair, Marstrand offers a wide range of restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops, shopping, salt baths, the Carlstens fortress, spa and the beautiful West coast environment.
