NMMA says shipments were up across most segments

Despite the trade wars and tariff battles with its primary trade partners, US wholesale boat shipments were up 8%, year-to-date, through July.

According to the National Marine Manufacturers’ Association’s (NMMA) Monthly Shipping Report, wholesale shipments were up across most segments, with personal watercraft leading the fleet with an 11% increase year-to-date. Outboard-powered boat shipments were up 6% and the two categories by volume.

NMMA’s Monthly Shipment Report tracks industry wholesale shipments of outboard motors and boats, sterndrives and inboards motors and boats, personal watercraft, jet drive boats, inflatable boats, and trailers. The report includes current month, year-to-date, and prior year comparisons of unit shipments and factory value by hull material, length, and type of boat.

The report is based on NMMA's control group of manufacturers representing 77% of the powerboat market.
