Monte Carlo Yachts (MCY), the Italian-based luxury motoryacht arm of the Beneteau Group, is planning to strengthen its presence in the superyacht market over the next couple of years.

The company will be launching its latest MCY 96 model in Venice at the end of this month and it will have its global show debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

At Cannes, the company will have its complete range on display, from the MCY 65 up to MCY 105. Four units of the MCY 96 have been sold off-plan.

Looking ahead to probably 2019, MCY managing director Fabrizio Iarrera has confirmed that the company is planning to go larger with a 40m (130ft) model under development.

To cope with the growing flow of orders, the company is receiving the main MCY assembly facility located at Monfalcone between Venice and Trieste to increase production capacity. This has included the building of a new 60m (197ft)-long paint shed, allowing more construction bays to be developed within the main assembly hall.

MCY also has a 25,000sq m site just across the waterway from its present facility which is available to be developed as required. The workforce at Monfalcone has risen from 20 when the company first started operating in 2008 to around 400 currently.
